COLUMBIA (S.C.) – The South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs (SCDCA), wants to inform consumers about the closure of Keowee Funeral Services, Seneca. Customers who have signed preneed funeral contracts either with Keowee Funeral Services, or the former Brown-Oglesby Funeral Home can expect a representative of SCDCA in the next few weeks to help them transfer any contract to another licensed provider.
Consumers can contact another licensed funeral home to transfer a contract, without having to wait for SCDCA. SCDCA should be contacted by the funeral home you select. Many funeral homes in the area are aware of this situation and willing to assist.
SCDCA wants to transfer contracts as quickly as possible, and asks that consumers make a decision within 30 days. SCDCA maintains a list licensed funeral homes for consumers to use in order to transfer their contracts. To search for licensed providers, consumers can visit the Licensee Search webpage. SCDCA can help you determine if you or your loved one have a preneed agreement with Keowee Funeral Services. Please call 803-734-4226 for more information.
