Gloria L. Gaither (81), a former resident of Manhattan, passed away Saturday, February 28th 2015 at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan. She was the daughter of Merle L (Acord), Brown, and was born at Topeka on Saturday, July 22nd 1933.
The family is planning a private family memorial service. Mrs. Gaither’s family is assisted by Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home & Crematory in Herington Chapel.
Mrs. Gaither was a homemaker as well as a Certified Nurses Assistance. She worked in several Manhattan nursing homes. From 1990 to her recent move to Herington, she lived in Manhattan. She graduated with the 1951 class from Topeka High School.
Merle Allen Gaither, a son of Lawton in Oklahoma, and five (5) daughters, Melody Partlow, Lisa Ried, Manhattan, Kathy Gray, Deborah Webster, White Cloud, Mich., and Judy Loveday, Durango, CO, survived her. She had 22 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and three (3) great-great grandchildren.
